I have a toshiba nb100 notebook with linux ubuntu.

It seems to be okay when I'm working off-line,but the moment I swith it to online it becomes very slow and unresponsive and all pages and messages on-screen freeze and I'm unable to remove them.

I was hoping someone might be able to give me some help as I'm new to linux :)

hi scottyboy1979,
make sure that the modules of the network devices are correct and loaded...
try a cable lan connection first...

maybe one of the modules (wlan most) are not working correctly...
if there is encryption enabled it may stuck....
