I accidently uninstalled the programming for my chicony USB 2.0 web camera while trying to install its driver on my satellite L355-S7812
So I’m here looking on the web for the firmware but no luck
Is there any possible way for me to get the firmware or even a link to it?
Please
Obviously you have an US notebook model. Please visit Toshiba US support page under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_modSel.jsp
Choose your notebook model and you will find there Camera Utility for Windows XP/Vista (32/64bit) (v6.2.238.1217; 03-04-2008; 23M).
i been trying that and it still doesnt work =[
im sure its the firmware and not the driver so thats why i asked for the firmware =[
sighs
i guess i dont have a can anymore =\
As Mike suggested the webcam does not need any firmware and such firmware does not exists… there is just and Chicony webcam software which contains an driver too.
Usually you should install just the software which would recognize the webcam.
I’m not quite sure why installation didn’t work… maybe you did something wrong…
In device manager -> Imaging devices you should check if the USB Video Device is listed. This is the webcam…
You could remove it from the device list. Then reboot the unit and after new reboot reinstall the software once again...
ok
we have made some progress and i must thank all of you guys for your time
we have got the software to open like toshiba webcam assistant but the camera itself doesnt come on, it doesnt show the blue led light to ondicate thats its on either
the software jus remains blank
when used on messenger to show my webcam, the color bar code comes up =[

putting light source will not help in any way cause the webcam itself not turning on
