Satego X200-21u + Win7: freeze while playing a game for about ~20 seconds
Posted: 18-Nov-2009 15:33

Hello,

installed win7 some weeks ago and i need help.

as long as i usee the default display drivers from toshiba (~ 1 year old) windows7 tends to freeze while playing a game for about ~20 seconds, and everything goes normal again.

after searching via interned, i found out that newer driver from nvidia could fix it, so i downloaded the newest laptop drivers from there. now windows doesn't freeze anymore, but instead a huge amount of pixels appears for split seconds. could anybody help me? is it possible that toshiba will bring win7 compatible display drivers?

what are the exact changes toshiba makes to their drivers? can i repeat it manual?

**edit**

sry for the bad language :).

using win7 32 bit version

Hi mate,

The point is that you should only use display drivers from Toshiba directly because are pretested on the on the notebook. Other drivers don’t have an overheat protection and that means you could display errors and damage the graphic card. So I would recommend using Toshiba display drivers.

I don’t know the difference between the display drivers, you should ask this Toshiba directly and not here in user forum.

Maybe there is another solution for your problem like cleaning your notebook with compressed air spray. This could blow out the dust from the cooling ventilators.

You can fix the Pixelproblem by using Rivatuner.With this you have to set Standard 2D Memory Clock from 100 to 150. That's all, no more Problems. And don't go to Drivers higher v182.50. All newer Drivers dont work correct with this Laptop.
Good Luck.
