How to activate infrared in Vista?

I had to reinstall Vista but can’t get the remote control to start media centre now.
I think it’s an infrared thing, I don’t see infrared in device manager

I have the in bond driver set but don’t see how to activate infrared in Vista or how to install windond.

Help please

Which notebook model do you have exactly?
Have you reinstalled Vista using Toshiba recovery installations CD/DVD?

I have the same question with Satellite A 300 1G5. The notebook came with windows Vista but now i`m using windows xp. I must say i never tried Vista to see if IR port works but i see in front of my laptop a little glass that looks like an IR port. Does anybody knows if i can use this port? And if i can what i have to do, i didn`t found any driver on toshiba website!

Hi

The infrared receiver window which is provided ONLY with some models receives the signals from remote control which is provided with some models.
It’s not an infrared interface for file transferring!

I assume your notebook does not support this sensor if the remote control was not provided and delivered together with your notebook

Ok...but i still have that port in front of my laptop! Is it usefull for something or it`s just for design?

As mentioned above, it’s for remote control.
Maybe you could use it if you would have a remote control.
