Satego X200 temerature problem
Posted: 07-Jul-2009 09:20

Hi, please excuse my english i will give my best :)

My Satego X200 Notebook has a temperature problem. At benchmarking or gaming the max. temp. of the CPU is 100C!

I tryed to find the problem so i searched in the internet and found people who took a bios-update. But it do not work at my notebook. But while the notebook updated, i heard the Fans running much faster as normally. So i think it is a Software-problem. I think the Fans are runing to slow.

Have anyone a tip for me? I have no idea how i can speed-up my fans :(

thx for help

Hi

It’s not software problem buddy…

Fact is that the internal temp will always increase to a higher level while gaming or running some high performance applications.
But 100C are definitely too high!

I don’t know how old your notebook is and how long are you using this unit but in most cases the internal temperature increases due to the dust and debris inside the cooling ventilators.
In such case it’s recommended to remove the dust. I clean my fans from time to time using an compressed air spray. Such sprays are very useful and you could remove the dust from the cooling grilles very easily…
You can buy such spray from different computer/notebook dealers or check some offers online.

Cheers

Thank you for helping me :)

But i have not understand why this is a Hardware-Problem. I think normally, the Fans have to rotate faster at this temperatures. If they do that, the CPU would be more cooled. But the fans rotate always on self speed like idle.

thx for help ;)

Oh i forgot:

My notebook ist 1,5 years old. I have warranty now. Because of the warranty, i do not like to clean it by myself inside.

I think the fans rotate always because the temp doesn’t go down and therefore the cooling modules would run with the same, high speed.
Therefore the cooling module cleaning could helps… But if the warranty is valid then you should contact the ASP technician for the help...

Hi

I have the same problem with my satego.
If i play a computer game for some minutes the notebook shuts down.

I checked the temp. with everest an the cpu have had 90 degrees.

After the bios update my fans run at high speed for a second like they do it before i have this problem.

I have tried to clean the fans but there is no opportunity to get close to them without loosing the warranty.

I have tried to clean the fans but there is no opportunity to get close to them without loosing the warranty.
So you need the help from a ASP technician.
The technician could disassemble the notebook and could clean everything inside the notebook. He could also renew the thermal grease which I placed between the CPU and cooling modules… This is very important because after a long time of usage the thermal grease becomes dry.

Hey guys,

same Problem. Temperature is rising in full gaming mode to 99C. Right cooler works without problems and pushes the hot air away. But my left cooler is doing nothing. I cleaned it (nothing to clean yet because there were no dust inside ) but after restart i became the same heat-problems. 2d Mode = 60-70C / 3d mode 90-100C.

I suppose my Standarddrivers on Windows 7 RC causes this problem. Today i will install 1.) the official win32 vista chipset driver 2.) if this doen´t work - the new windows 7 chipset driver from intel.

PS: System was running correctly on Windows Vista 32 bit (OEM Installation).
