BIOS update failed - Can I get a new motherboard?

Well what can I say..

I downloaded the BIOS update as advised through TEMPRO or what ever it is called.. guess what the lovley over heat shut down actavaited which has become annoying and is happening more oftern and now my laptop will not turn on!

Would Toshiba like to send me a new motherboard?

I doubt this because why Toshiba should sent you a new motherboard?

The BIOS update is not covered by warranty and it should only be done if you have a problem with your notebook and not just for fun.

What you can do now is to contact the nearest ASP. The technicians can try to reflash the ROM module but in worst case your motherboard must be exchanged.

a: it told me it was an important bios update, if it wasnt why the f*** do thy tell us it is
b: i didint actually do anyting wroing, the laptop turned its self off!
c: is anything actually covered under warrenty?
d: what part of it dosent turnn didnt make sence?? how the heck can u reflash somthing that refuses to boot? call me a muppit if you can without firing up!

As far as I know the BIOS update issues are not covered by warranty… but that's my personal opinion and for details I would recommend contacting the local ASP.
But fact is that the BIOS update should run smoothly and should work if everything would be done correctly.
Before starting any BIOS updates you should ensure that the notebook is connected to AC adaptor.
Furthermore you should not interrupt the procedure and should not run any 3rd party applications (Antivirus, any cleaner, firewalls, etc…) while BIOS update because this could affect the update procedure.

Anyway… if the BIOS update has failed then your need to get in contact with the ASP in your country.
