I’m pretty sure there’s a virus in my laptop, but scans (avg and windows defender) can’t seem to detect any.
I have Norton 360 on my computer, but I’m not even allowed to run a virus scan- there’s something stopping it. One by one, programs on my computer are being disabled for no apparent reason but whatever it is causing it seems to be invincible.
Any ideas of how I can find out what it is and get rid?
Your best option would be to backup your data and run Recovery. Install a Virus scanner before transferring your data back to the HDD, just in case the data is infected.
Another thing you can try is remove the HDD and connect it to another PC using a USB Adapter, and run a Virus scanner on it.
My experience with Norton is not so good. You should try AntiVir. It’s freeware and a good antivirus program. Try it!
But you should only use one antivirus program on the laptop.
Furthermore you can to find the virus with Adaware.
In worst case you must reinstall the notebook with the Toshiba recovery disk.
