How to change boot sequence on Satellite A10?

Satellite A10 system.

Try to change the boot sequence, tried various combination
1/ press 'esc' the before XP logo comes up - still goes to desktop
2/ press 'esc' and F1 both at the same time - still goes to desktop

Can anyone let me know how as (1) is supposely the instruction from Toshiba website.

Please help been trying thw whole day to get into Bios Set-up, TIA

To enter BIOS settings on Satellite A10 press ESC button immediately after switching the notebook ON. Press it several times and follow the menu shown on the screen (lower part of the display).

When the Toshiba welcome screen is shown can you see small symbols for bootable devices under this Toshiba welcome screen? It is pretty old notebook model and I can really not remember how it looks like.

The ESC and F1 should allow you to access the BIOS.

But did you try to press the F12 button?

Pressing the F12 button would enable the boot menu on the screen.

Then you could choose the device from where you want to boot.

It should help too.
