Display driver error while playing games on Satellite P100-387 PSPA3E
Posted: 12-Apr-2007 13:45

Hi,

I have a Satellite P-100 387 PSPA3E notebook (with Nvidia 7600 GO 256 MB) and no matter what game I play I get a stop error-blue screen of death all the time and must restart.

It happens while I play either "Command & Conquere-Tiberium Wars" or "Warcraft III" (which can run on ANY low end machine).Did the BIOS update and got the latest display driver from Toshiba support. Nothing. Also, I´ve tryed ALL the driver versions from Nvidia and from LaptopVideo2go.com with modded inf-s.

Don´t know what else to do so I post here before contacting Toshiba. I have a valid warranty on the machine. Running XP MediaCentar which came with it.

THX in advance!

Hi

I really don’t know what to say. Before you wait here you should contact Authorized service partner in your country and let them check your notebook. You should explain them what happen exactly.

I hope they will be able to help you. Please let us know if you will have more info about this issue.

I have a similar problem with my p100-240, but it's with Everquest 2.
The game installs. updates, and when I start the game, instead of the blue screen the laptop reboots.

It's very annoying. Guild Wars, Frozen Throne, and all other games installed work great.

I have Windows XP Media Edition installed.

BIOS is the latest and all Toshiba updates installed, and windows patches from windows updates site.

Strange thing is that all the games have great performance when I start playing.Even the latest editions (2007).No problems even on highest details on.But after some time (10 mins to 2 hours) the game either stops responding or I get BSOD and must restart.Sometimes when it stops I can manually shut it down by killing the process in t.manager, but then when I try to start the game again I get an error saying that I dont have a DirectX installed.Must restart and then I can play again. All the latest drivers and updates are installed.I dont know what to do anymore. Not to mention how expensive this laptop is.

Try to download and to use the drivers from the http://www.omegadrivers.net site.
I noticed some improvements during game playing…

THX for the tip Eldorado, but these drivers don´t work at all. When I install them my card doesn´t run and I get the "Found new hardware" wrom Windows.I think these drivers are made for desktop computer card versions only.

Scotland99, which card do you have, is it 7600 GO? If it is, please tell me what driver version do you use because this happens to me while playing Frozen Throne also...

I am heading to bed in a minute, but will look at driver details tomorrow.
I seem to remember that the latest BIOS update improved something to do with graphics.
Yes, I've got the 7600 go graphics card.

You have good ventilation to the laptop? (i.e. you don't have it running on a deep pile carpet, or on a big deep duvet or something?)

I tried the Nvidia drivers too but they dont work, it has to be the drivers from Toshiba.

Suggest you do a system restore, and if that does not help re-flash your BIOS
The link to the driver updates was good, but not for the laptop.

Nothing so far.
I´ve tryed EVERYTHING!All the drivers and updates and still problems persist...all the time.

I belive the only thing left for me to do is removing WindowsMediaCentar and installing fresh copy of XP with the newest drivers avaliable from Toshiba.

Great news.

I just upgraded to Vista Home Premium, and Everquest 2 works. My other important games work well too. Magic the gathering (old Microprose game) and Magic the gathering online.

Hope your problems are sorted now.
