Satellite P200 - Win 7 x64 - Installed memory 4GB (3GB usable)

Hi there,

I upgrade my Satellite P200 (PSPBGA-01W015) to Windows 7 x64 however I got problem with memory, Windows says: Installed memory 4GB (3GB usable).

In Resource Monitor say Hardware Reserved 1026MB

When I check Graphic Adapter properties, it says: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 with Dedicated Memory 256MB, Shared System Memory 1279MB, Total Graphics Memory 1535MB.

I guess the graphic card occupies that 1GB memory but there no options anywhere that I can adjust that shared memory (both in Bios setup and in Windows).

The only Bios version I can find on Australia Toshiba support site for my model is "BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA V1.70, 21/08/2007" which is actually only supported Windows Vista.

Not sure if I can find similar Bios version at Toshiba Europe website? Last time when I upgraded my computer to Windows 7, support staff advised me to Europe website as well, but the similar model in Euro market named differently. Now I don't remember which Europe model match with my laptop Australia model.

It seems Toshiba Australia support website not always been well updated.

You are right…. The part of the main memory is used by graphic card but you cannot assign the part of the memory manually… this is controlled by graphic card driver.
If the running application like game needs some more graphic memory, the driver assigns this automatically.
