Satellite L755-17Q

I accidentally downloaded a virus, this virus I believe then turned off my computer, and now once I try to load it, the Toshiba screen appears, but then the screen goes black with just a small bar flashing in the top left corner. I gave this program administrator rights as I thought it was safe. Now I cannot use my laptop, what should I do?

All help is appreciated.

PS I am rubbish with computers.

It depends on you.Do you have some important data saved on HDD?
If not i recommend you to reinstall OS again using Toshiba recovery disc.
Set BIOS to default settings and install OS again.

After doing this you will have clean preinstalled OS and no troubles anyomore.

I've misplaced my recovery disk for that laptop, but will a recovery disk for a Satellite L500-19X be sufficient? I've used it before on that laptop however, windows was not genuine, along with there being no network driver thing, so I couldn't connect to the internet.

The only real difference that I could detect between the two was 32bit and 64bit which of course I don't have a clue what they are.

If you can, could you please give me a link to where I can download the necessary network driver along with the instructions on how to download it onto my computer. All help appreciated.

PS I would have given you the helpful/correct answer thing, but I am unaware of how to give you it.

No! You cannot use other Recovery disk because the drivers which are part of the recovery image are different and this would cause problems.

You need the recover disk for the L755 series and you can order this here:

How can I load the CD if I can't get onto anything? I can get onto I think my "BIOS" where I click F2 when the computer loads and is on the Toshiba screen, "Click F2 to access setup" or something like that.

On the boot screen it has as follows:

1. HDD/SSD TOSHIBA MK6475GSX (S1)
2. USB
3. ODD HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT30N (PM)
4. FDD
5. LAN ATHEROS BOOT AGENT

If that has any relevance.

I know what I have to do is go to here:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
And then download the correct file, but how will I get it from one laptop to the other?

Thank you in advance once again!

Save drivers on USB stick, put it onto your Satellite and install them one by one.
