Tecra R840 - Function keys (Fn) stoped working

Hello,

I have a R840 with Win7 Professional 64 bit.

My last problem: the Fn keys stops working (for example I can't use the brightness up or down with the F6/F7 key). After restarting everything is normal....untill it stops working in the near future (next day or so!!!!).

I uninstalled the value pack and reinstalled...no sucess!
I uninstalled completelly the value pack...no sucess!

Any help?

The Fn buttons are controlled by Flash Card Support Utility…
This Flash Card Support Utility can be found under All Programs -> Toshiba
So you need to restart the Flash Cards to get the Fn buttons working again

Hi

Usually VAP reinstallation should help.
Do you use original preinstalled OS that you got with your Tecra?

yes I have the original OS and I have the Value pack! I've deleted and reinstalled and...same problem!

When you go to start > run > msconfig > startup > is check mark set in front f “Toshiba Flash Cards”?

Paulo I know you will not be happy with my advice but I will write it here anyway. If nothing helps back up all your data and install recovery image again. After doing this you will have “factory settings” again and everything should work properly again.
I know it is most radical but definitely most effective method to fix issues like this.
