Just upgraded my Satellite M105 with two matched 1GB memory modules previously it had one 512MB module in it running XP PRO on a new 1TB SATA HDD and it seems much slower than before.
I have just upgraded the drivers all of them as i had a WiFi issue (not working) but that is now fine.
Run some speed tests on speedtest.net and it is very slow at times BUT when i am using my Gmail or a web page it seems to take forever and is hesitating with data entry both in an email and on a web page when entering URL's and things like that.
I tried both Firefox and Safari and they both seem VERY VERY SLOW seems to be fine offline in MS OFFICE Word Excel and open office also seems to be running smoothly so it looks like a network issue.
Tried it both hard wired and on WiFi and it seems to be much the same on both.
Running speedtest.net on my desktop is fine so it is not a router or ISP problem
My DT does 15+ Mbps DL and 1.5 Mbps UL the laptop DL 5 Mbps and UL .5 Mbps
Any ideas ???
Also can someone tell me what drivers i should have installed for the networking

The 1TB HDD was planned to go into my TECRA........(read my nightmare thread)....i take lots of digital photographs............and i needed lots of disc space................and a 1TB is so cheap now it seemed silly to put in a 500GB drive when i could get a 1TB drive for a few pounds more. The Satellite was dug out of a pile of old laptops after the TECRA died with the BSoD mainly to help solve the TECRA problem...........but then the 1TB drive ended up in the Satellite (just for now i hope). I will put in the 80GB drive back in and see if internet speed improves................i did upgrade the Realtek drivers and things seemed to improve when on a Cat5 cable but WiFi is pedestrian..............i checked out my TECRA and its performance is on a par with my desktop both hard wired and WiFi. Find it difficult to understand why or how the HDD can slow down the WiFi speed
