Hi,

While I was recording a video, near the end, before it could process the video, the battery died, and left the video open. Now I have a 2Gb video file that I can't open, what can I do to recover it? Is there any software that could help me with this?

Thanks.

Hi

Did you try to play this file using VLC video player?
Try it…

Also there is a freeware software called “SUPER 2012”
This tool converts many different audio and video files…
Could try to convert this file in order to play it using VLC player…

Hi Tonny,

thanks for answering.

i've already tried VLC before, but no luck, doesn't play.

Tried the Super 2012, it seems a nice software, but can't encode, gives an error saying that the file might be corrupted or missing the header....

Any more suggestions that you can give me??

Hi

There is a tool called “ Asfbin”
The Asfbin is powerful tool when it comes to fixing damaged ASF/WMV files. It can repair almost all types of errors within your favorite video files.

Hi MisterX,

thanks for helping.

well i tried the software you suggested, changed the extension from mp4 to wmv so the program could recognize it, but still no luck, it says "Header is missing critical data".

very complicated situation...

Hi

Maybe you should ensure that your battery is fully charged before trying to record big files?

Sorry matte but don’t think you can repair faulty files
