Qosmio DX1210 cannot burn to CD's

Hi,

I have an All-In-One DX1210 i5, which has a BD-ROM.
My problem is, it will read CD's and DVD, and I can brun to DVD but I can't brun to CD's.

It has been doing it for new, it doesn't make any difference if I use
3rd party software or not it still comes up with an error when burning
to CD's, and I have tried about 4 or 5 different brands of CD's and
still the same result.
I tried the below link as suggested on another toshiba site but it didn't make any difference.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi

Did you try CD –R format from TDK?
I had problems writing data on CDs and DVD. I tried the TDK –R and they worked fine…

Yes I have tried TDK CD+R and CD-R it still didn't make any difference.

Weird…
You could try to clean the laser lens using an cotton wool tip and alcohol.
Sometimes it helps to clean the laser lens to fix such issues…

I cleaned the lens with alcohol, unfortunately, it made no difference. I still receive the same error,

There was a problem burning this disc

The disc wasn't burned successfully. Make sure that you have the latest firmware for your CD or DVD burner instraaled, and then try again.

And I have checked for updates on drivers etc. and it always says that I have the latest installed.

Hi,

For future reference, to fix this problem I downloaded and installed the latest update to Toshiba's disc creator for this model. I don't know why but it works fine now.
