AT100 wont connect to my windows XP PC

I have a new AT100. It connects via WiFi to the internet but I can't transfer files from my PC.
I plug the USB cable from the PC to the AT100 but neither shows up on the other.
Am I missing something or is it not possible to connect to the PC and transfer files from one to the other??

When the USB cable is connected, the PC makes the noise to say all is good but nothing shows up on either the PC nor the AT100.

What step am I missing?

To connect the AT100 to your Win-XP PC you need the MediaTransferProtocol for XP.
The easiest way to get MTP is to upgrade your Windows MediaPlayer to a version >= 10 (no yoke).

So check the version of your MediaPlayer.
Next you must disable the USB-Debugging of the tab.
So check "Settings > Applications > Development" and disable USB debugging.
When you now connect your tab via usb it should works.

But use the mini-usb-port of the tab, not the host-port.

Update.
Thankyou YesFan for your reply. Unfortunately it does not fix the issue. When I plug the Toshiba tablet in I get a notifcation noise that says it don't work, nothing comes up at all. If I turn USB Debugging on, it trys to connect but fails and comes up with an INF error for TosTab3.
I have uninstalled mediaplayer 11 twice to no effect. Surely it must be easier than this to connect the tablet to my pc to transfer files. Should I try and install windows on the tablet??

Hello Mike,

sad to hear that it didn't work. This procedure solved the problem for me and some other XP-Users in germany under Android 3.1. Now I have 3.2.1 and it is still running (see the picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hrpt5s5o48mrqt2/AT100_XP_Android321.png).

While the connection with usb is not working, what do you think about trying another way? You have some alternatives to do this:

  • Transfer files with your wifi-connection. In my opinion this is the easiest way. With the app ES FileExplorer you can do this per drag&drop. The app offers access to your lan, via ftp and webdav. And you have also very easy acces to cloud webspace like dropbox and some others.
  • Use the sd-card or an usb-device.
  • The connection with win7, vista or ubuntu12.04 works out of the box.

downloaded and installed the ES File Explorer, found that didn't work either. Installed the android sdk, and the java jsk, and some others letters well to install a usb driver and that achieved nothing other than wasting 4 hours. I think I will take it back and try another brand, this is just a sick joke.
