I have a recent problem with my L775-12L laptop regarding SD Card Reader.
Since yesterday my computer refuses to open SD Card while it was always working before.
I didn't do anything with my computer and now when I insert my usual SDHC Card 8GB I am asked to format the card.
I have just downloaded driver "Card Reader Controller" from Toshiba Site but nothing has changed.
I am quite desperate as I am just back from Holidays and I can't wait to download my pictures on my computer.
Could someone help me to resolve this problem pleeeaaaase?
Answer "No" if asked to format the card. After, run command promt as administrator. Check letter name SD Card Reader. In command promt type "chkdsk /f %letter name SD Card Reader%:" and press Enter.
Thanks for your help.
I have tried your command but it doesn't work.
Just to be sure, if my SD Card Reader name is F: what is the exact command I have to type?
Thanks
After further investigations it seems that this problem affects every SD Card I have (512 Mb 2 GB and 8 GB).
I could format an "empty test" SD Card with an external card reader (with plots for SD) on USB.
I was then able to format the SD Card from RAW into FAT but when I put it in my laptop SD Card Reader I have the same problem, my computer sees it in RAW again...
It seems that my Toshiba SD Card reader sees always in RAW format and I do not know how to change this into FAT
My 8GB card is a SDHC card but I have the problem with 512 Mo SD Card too.
I succeeded formatting with my external SD Card Reader connected to USB (to NTFS or FAT32) but as soon as I try the SD Card into my internal SD Card Reader I can not open it and I am asked to format it again...And my internal SD card reader seems trying to read every SD card into RAW format.
