Qosmio X500 - GTX 460M lag throttle

Need some advice regarding my notebook.

I am having issues with my Qosmio X500 34E which I think is GPU related.

Issues with it from the word go with dead CPU fan which had to be replaced and blue screen of death. Did fill reformat using own windows 7 Ultimate and drivers after. No issues after.

Haven't tried games until recently. But getting throttling or lag issues every 3 to 4 seconds only in gaming, not on video, but even at the lowest resolution.

Tried sniper elite, Starcraft 2 and now Diablo 3 with all the same problem.

I have updated latest GPU drivers and BIOS, but no change. Updated all windows 7 drivers and NVIDIA from website but again no change.

Have run GPU-Z and only things is it runs on PCIE 1.1 instead of max of 2 which increases on rendering test.

I am not very savvy when it comes to GPU and particularly in notebooks, so any advice on what I should do would be appreciated.

How to understand this? Has Toshiba service replaced all this?

Why not with original Toshiba recovery image that you got with your Qosmio notebook?

Latest GPU driver from Toshiba download page?

Sorry for all these questions but I just want to understand what is going on there.

Also, what display driver version do you have installed?

I would try the version from the Toshiba website. Drivers from other sources may cause issues like this.
