My R630 LCD screen had always been using HD 1366x768 resolution (16x9 aspect ratio).
But not anymore ;(
This week, after the battery went out and I had it recharged the laptod came up with 1280x800 as the top most resolution available, thus displaying black blank areas ontop and to the right of the screen.
No changes (hw+sw) have been made to the laptop for this to have happened,
I am using the updated Intel HD drivers but the option to choose the topmost HD1366x768 resolution is vanished from the menu.
I can only use 1280x800 not covering the whole screen.
Please, I can I get 1366x768 back so I can get a proper use of my Toshiba.
I thank you for your support Tony, but unfortunately after following every steps of your suggestion I came to very same situation: The LCD keeps not displaying full screen 16:9.
The only 16:9 I can/already could get is 1280x720 but with black bars on top and to the right of the screen.
I can't even center it. :((
I now I can no longer control the screen brilliance using F6 and F7 keys.
I further notice that, in spite of the Manual stating that there is 1366x768 available (as it always has been) not even in the Intel graphic configuration shows that option.
Its'a pity we cannot post attachmentes (pictures, files) here so I could show a screen capture of the problem. But this is text situation of the Graphics setup after following your recommendations,
The detected result of Windows 7 Manager - System Information v2.1 (Video)
Availability: Running/Full Power
Can anyone see the problem from these data?
I truly hope that Toshiba can help to solve this, for I would never expect such an unrecoverable deconfiguration that has happened for no apparent reason: no hw or sw changes had been mad, no external peripherals connected.
From lost HD fullscreen res to total black-out!!!
After applying the executable you recommended all I got was the same max resolution I now had 1280x720 and not the expected 1366x768.
I followed all procedures 4 hours wait w/o battery, then 30secs pushing the Power button, battery inserted and startup.
When I restarted de laptop I could never have it on again. It doens't even bip on power-on and I connot get to the BIOS screen either by hitting F2 or DEL.
MY LAPTOP IS NOW TOTTALLY DEAD:
All I see is the backlit LCD but always black n blank.
The HDD led keeps blinking as if was reading from it but nothing happens, the fan is also running.
Oh what a mess I got in ;( I have been using this machine since Sep2010 and it has always worked swiftly, but now this.
What could this be? What can I do?
WILL SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!
Given the lack of support regarding this problem of mine, all I'm contemplating at the moment is dumping my i5 Satellite R630 laptop in the garbage bin.
I'm quite disappointed at the TOSHIBA deception
simply cannot use it again
Can you see something on external monitor?
Did you also try to remove the battery and the ac adaptor for a longer period of time?
Its really strange what happened to your notebook, but don’t see any other solution at the moment as to remove the battery and ac adaptor and to wait some time…
Otherwise you will need an help from service technician
