Hi All,

I bought the stor.e alu 1tb 2.5" external hard drive on the advice of a local p.c shop as I was having problems with the hdd in this laptop.

Was told by the shop to make a clone of my hdd then swap it out for a new one well fair to say I fooked up the process as the internal drive failed during the making of the clone drive.

Well the laptop is now fixed but I cannot get the stor.e to open up nor does the drive show up in the computer tab.

It does show up in the device manage tab and when clicked on in the volumes tab shows as (partition style: master boot record) and shows the drive as being empty.

But I cannot open up the drive nor does it plug and play, so I would be grateful if anyone could fill me in on a way of restoring the drive to its factory settings and provide a link to the drivers so i can use the drive as storage.

Did you test this HDD in connection with another computers/notebooks?

The Stor.E Alu 2 HDD should be connected to two USB ports using the provided Y USB cable.
Did you connect the HDD to two USB ports on your notebook?

Please try this if you did not connect the HDD to two USB ports…
Furthermore you cannot set the HDD to factory settings. It’s a simple HDD which can be formatted only.

Yes I have tried connecting it to a desktop and have the same issue whether I use one usb or both of them

the first time I connected it she auto run and I could access it no problems it was only after I used it to clone my hdd in my laptop which failed during the clone now it will not auto run nor appear as a hdd in the my computer tab it does show up in the devices and printers tab and says that it is working ok but I cannot access it from there.

if you click on the storE hdd properties tab it shows it as a master boot record don’t know if that is right or not but it is heading for the bin unless you have any ideas on how to access it to reformat it so I can use it as storage as at the mo it’s just a paper weight with a blue light on it.
