Satellite P750-141 - constant WLan dropouts

Hi,

I'm having seriously annoying issues with the wifi on my laptop. This is the second Toshiba it's happening with, the other one being a P750-121 which was traded for this one due to a faulty graphics card.

You see, I get a full and healthy wifi signal all the time. Full 5 bars and they don't move. I have brand spanking new drivers set up, but before that I've had the whole system restored.

The odd thing is, I get dropouts all the time. It doesn't show on the signal, but when I try to download anything it stops after a few seconds. I constantly need to refresh pages because they start loading and suddenly there's no connection.

I had to do that several times before posting here and in fact I need to copy this whole message before I try to send it in case I might lose it due to failure in sending it.
This is not an issue with any other laptop or desktop in the house.

Maybe my laptop hates this router, I don't know. In any case I'm moving house in a few days and with it comes a new router. I'll check in with you when that happens. I just think it's odd as it didn't use to be like this with the P750-121 until it came back from failed repair attempt nr.1.

Now it happens with this one. I can't use the internet normally at all.
A few seconds is all I have until failure presents itself. Very odd...

It would be interesting to know if this happens also using LAN cable connection…
Check this…

Do you have also the same issues browsing in the net without downloading anything?
I mean streaming from youtube or similar…

It could be possible that this issue has nothing to do with WLan but with some software running the background (antivirus, firewall, etc…)

Otherwise its interesting to know how it acts with new router… so keep us up to date…

First, a fun fact: I had to reload the page trying to log in, as the page "couldn't be found". I think you can imagine how frustrating that is...

I kind of suspect the router in this, although I can't for the life of me figure out what's the problem with it. I've been through all the settings in it and it should work perfectly which, incidentally, it did a few months ago.

I get this problem all the time, no matter how little I'm doing on the internet. If it's just simple facebook browsing it sometimes cant find the page or stops in the middle of loading it so it gets all messed up with missing pictures etc. I don't have anything else running that should affect the internet. I don't even have a virus scanner (I don't need one, I can smell viruses a mile away).

The only other programs I have running usually that might even connect to the internet at all are the Toshiba ones and Steam, which I turn off regularly.

I'm going to try the LAN cable.
Also, I'm going to try other stuff such as disabling bluetooth (I saw someone mentioning that it might interfere as it's running on similar frequencies as the wifi).
I'll report back when I've tried these things out.

Update: Turning off Bluetooth did not work and connecting with a LAN cable worked perfectly, but is not convenient.
So it's definitely a wifi problem...

Hmm…indeed, could be WLan related issue.
Try to remove/disable the TCp/IPv6 and use only the v4

Still the same after that. Must be that it has a problem with the router. Fortunately I move next Tuesday, so I'll be able to check this out on another router.
