If the HDD is not present in BIOS, you have to replace the HDD with a new one.
Do you know how to access the BIOS?
Power up the unit and press the F2 button. Now you should check the first page of the BIOS. Usually the CD/DVD drive and the HDD should be listed with all the details.
If the BIOS could not recognize the HDD, then this means that HDD is faulty.
From my knowledge you could use an simple 2.5” HDD.
