Satellite X200-20S - LAN is not working after BIOS update

Hi all

I have upgraded BIOS to the newest 2.7 version and LAN network card just vanished from my device list. The wireless network card works fine though. When I plug ethernet cable in, the green light comes on but orange one not, so I take it it is not broken as it worked fine before BIOS update.

I have tried different lan drivers and Windows XP and still nothing.Any ideas please?

I have Windows 7 x64 installed.

Is LAN option listed in BIOS boot menu?

If you have tested it with Win7 and WXP maybe you should make last test and install original Toshiba recovery image that you got with your notebook and see what happen when you use notebook with “factory settings”.

Thanks for a quick response Pedro.
The LAN option is set on enabled in Bios settings.
I dont have a recovery disc. Can I download it somehow or purchase it?

Are you sure that you have installed right LAN driver?
It seems that Toshiba does not provide drivers for Win 7 for this notebook model…
Did not find Win 7 drivers on the European driver page so I assume you need to search for the driver at your own hand.

As far as I know the notebook supports an Realtek LAN card.
I recommend visiting the Realtek driver page and to download the LAN driver directly from chip manufacturer page.

Additionally you could try this one released for Satellite Pro A200 series since this model seems to be equipped with the same LAN card:
Realtek LAN Driver V 7.003.0522.2009
