Qosmio X500 does not write data on any CD

I have a Qosmio X-500 with windows 7 home (64 bit) on it, my CD-Rom used to work fine, now it reads and burns dvds and blue-rays but it won't read or burn any cd.

I have no upper or lower filter in registry.
How can i fix it?

Hi

Did you try different CDs from different manufacturers?
Try TDK –R CD.
I use these kind of CDs and never had any problems but had problems writing data on other CDs.

Furthermore you could try to clean the laser lens carefully… you can use an cotton wool tip and a little bit alcohol… that should be good enough.

By the way: what burning app do you use? In my opinion Nero is great software, one of the best software in this segment.

I had such problem in the past too. Cleaning the lens helped me too.
