My laptop is Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5940 with Windows Vista Home Premium. The following message comes when I try to boot it.

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fox the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose language settings, and then click "next".
3. Click "Repair your Computer".

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.

Unfortunately I do not have the windows installation disc. What am I supposed to do? I cannot access 'safe mode' by pressing F8. I would be grateful if someone helped me run my computer please.

It is pretty complicated now specially if you cannot start your notebook in safe mode.
I’m afraid you cannot do much about that and best and easiest solution would be clean OS installation.

You don’t have windows installation disc but have you maybe recovery DVD?

Seems that Windows system is muddled up and the boot sector has been damaged.
Google for Vista Repair disk download… maybe you could download an repair CD which would allow you to repair the boot sector…

In worst case you will need to purchase and use an Microsoft Vista disk or a Toshiba Recover disk.
