Hey Guys

I have a problem with my Toshiba E300-PSE30a-007004 Notebook at the moment.
The wireless on my computer no longer turns itself on automatically when I switch on my computer. This never used to be a problem. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Cheers Madadam001

Hi

I would recommend checking the Fn + F8 key combination.
This key combination switch the WLan on and off… so check if its set to ON!

It is not easy to understand what the problem can be and why this happen so it is not easy to offer some concrete advice what you can do about that.

Since when you have noticed this issue?
Have you installed some updates or changed anything?

I have noticed it about a month ago when i turn the laptop on and the wireless recognises it is on then turn straight off and i would check the wireless with fn/f8 and it would say it is on but it is switched off on the wireless symbol.
and i have not installed any new programs since the beginning of the year so it is not that at all
cheers

Hi

Did you try to reinstall the Wlan driver in order to check if it would fix this issue?
I don’t know what WLan card your notebook uses but you can check this in device manager under Network Adapters.
Here you will see the Wlan name… Uninstall the driver and reboot the notebook.
Then download the latest version of this driver and install it again.

Good luck

As last step I recommend you to install original Toshiba recovery image and test it with “factory settings”. This issue is really strange and I really don’t know what else you can try.

Set BIOS to default settings and install original recovery image. Test the WLAN card functionality and post some feedback.
