I think u need some software key finder. Mine i used jeelybean to find my product key since my unit dont have a COA sticker. I found my product key though, but unfortunately it is as default key and cannot be used for activation. This is my problem right now coz Windows is asking me to activate.

Wait a moment. I can understand that you want to reinstall Win7 but I don’t understand your problem. I have the same notebook model and know how it works.

Satellite P500 is delivered with preinstalled Win7 64bit.
Original recovery image is saved on HDD or you can also create recovery DVD for OS installation. When you use recovery image for Win7 installation you don’t need licence key.

So I must ask you: do you want to install Toshiba recovery image or your own OS installation using Microsoft installation disc.

Hello shadow

Let’s be clear. I don’t know which model do you have exactly but I presume your notebook was delivered with preinstalled operating system. You can use this OS without limitation and this OS is always activated. You can use recovery image 1000 times and it will be always activated.

So, in the whole story I don’t understand what your problem is. Do you want to install recovery image or your own OS installation?

Please note. Product key placed on the sticker cannot be used for OS activation if you use Microsoft installation disc. This key belongs to recovery image that you got with your notebook.

At the end I would like to know which C660 do you have exactly. I just want to check which OS is delivered with.

Hello Pedro

Actually this laptop was brought from EMEA Qatif, S.A and my relative there sent this to me via fed-ex. So the unit is here in the Philippines.

What really concerns me is that why is Windows asking for ACTIVATION? And why is that i cannot find any COA sticker anywhere my unit? I even checked the battery compartment hoping it is there but nothing.

The product key I found using a keyfinder is not valid coz it's a default key and cannot be used for activation.

Ive done a lot of research and it says that 1 product key is used in 1 laptop. So, why is it that my product key wont work?

What shall i do? Windows is being persistent for asking its activation. I am confused. Please help?!

OK but which Windows is preinstalled on your machine? Is this original Windows preinstalled by Toshiba or what?

If your relative has installed own OS I can understand this situation and you should ask him which Windows version is preinstalled on your notebook. Toshiba recovery image must not be activated.
In my last posting I explained you how it works.

One more time: At the end I would like to know which C660 do you have exactly. I just want to check which OS is delivered with.

Hi

I have checked specification for your notebook and it was delivered without OS so preinstalled Win7 version has nothing to do with Toshiba and licence key.
My relative doesnt have his own OS so im sure that it is the original Windows pre-installed by Toshiba.
No it is not. Toshiba doesn’t install Win7 Professional on Satellite notebooks.

What shall i do? Windows is being persistent for asking its activation. I am confused. Please help?!
You should not be confused. Preinstalled Professional version is not Toshiba recovery image so it is probably preinstalled with Microsoft installation disc so for activation key you must contact Microsoft and buy valid licence code.

That’s all.

Hello

What if instead of contacting Microsoft and buy valid licence code, I'll just uninstall this current WIN7 Pro I am using and buy a new WIN7 Pro installation disc to get rid of this counterfeit OS of mine, Will it work?

Thanks

Of course it will work. With new Microsoft disc you will buy valid licence for usage.
After clean OS installation you must install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities.

All of them you can download from Toshiba support page - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

All stuff must be installed in right installation order so if you need help or assistance please let us know. We will help you.
