Start-up issues on Satellite P755-S5382
Posted: 25-Mar-2012 16:19

I recently bought a Satellite P755-S5382 (maybe a month ago), and until today it worked fine. I left for work leaving it on, and when I got back it appeared to be asleep. After checking I saw it was turned off, and when I tried to turn it on the power button flashed about 5 times and it wouldn't start. I unlugged it and tried with just the battery, and tried to take the battery out and put it back in after a few minutes.

So far nothing I'm doing is working. I'm not sure if the battery is dead and the power adapter isn't working, but I want to know if anyone has any other suggestions before I spend $60 on a new adapter and/or battery.

Can you start notebook without battery and connected to AC power supply only?

Hi

First of all the notebook is covered by warranty if you bought this some weeks ago… so don’t purchase any parts for this unit…
If the hardware is affected or faulty, the warranty should cover everything…

To be honest its difficult to say what’s wrong here…
Try this:
Remove batter and AC adaptor. Then press power button 30 sec long… after that connect both parts again and try to power up the notebook.
If this fails, then I would recommend getting in contact with an local Toshiba ASP.
The technicians would check the unit and as mentioned above: it should be done free of charge…

Thanks guys. I tried to turn my computer on with just the adapter and it didn't work, so I tried the power button trick. After that I took it back to the store I bought it from. They're still looking at it but they think there was a power surge. Either way they say it's covered under warranty so if all else fails I'll get a replacement. Thanks again.
