Hi Guys

I have a Satallite L450-181 and have had to install a new hard drive with a fresh install of windows 7 professional.
Everything is working apart from the wireless device when I install the driver the device disapears I can find it using msinfo32 and it appears it has no ID and when it has shown in device manager its shows error code 12 "no resources".

The device is a realtek 8191se nic.
I have tried various drivers but none have worked I have searched loads of forums for similar errors and none have actually been the same problem as i have the wireless switch enabled. after the driver is installed for some reason it disconnects and i am unable to reconnect it.
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution to it as it is driving me mad?

Many thanks in advance

Hi

Did you install the chipset package before trying to install the WLAN driver?
That is at least what I would try.

I installed the WLAN driver last after installing everything else. I have tried various orders of install outcome is always the same soon as the driver is installed the network adapter goes missing and shows as diconnected.

Hi

Please try this:
Go to BIOS (press F2 while booting) and set the BIOS to default (F9) then save the changes (F10) and reboot.
Then download the right Wlan driver from Toshiba WLan portal:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/

Install the Wlan driver and check if the Wlan card is recognized properly in device manager.
Usually the Wlan could be switched on using the FN + F8 keys.
The FN buttons would work if you would install the VAP and Flash Card Support Utility. Note. The VAP needs to be installed at first.
I use both tools released for Sat L550D series… both work on my old A210 and I can enable and disable Wlan properly.

hi misterx
I have tried that and still no joy.
The wlan device shows at network controler before i install driver once installed it disapears. What i can work out so far is the device is not been allocated any memory resource or an IRQ as it shows in the log from "msinfo32.exe"

Please take a look into this thread:

I posted two links to two different Realtek Wlan drivers... test both

Make a check with recovery image. Install original recovery image and check WLAN card functionality.

It will be interesting to know how it works with “factory settings”.
