Satellite Pro P300 BIOS flash not running through to en from recovery CD

Hi Folks

I tried to upgrade my BIOS on my Satellite pro P300 series laptop, and it seems to have gone wrong. I have now read a lot about the winphlash version going wrong. I managed to create a recovery CD, and it starts the flash procedure, and almost runs to the end, but then cuts out and reboots. I have no idea how to fix this. I am sure I have the correct BIOS and recovery procedure. I can start my laptop up with Ubuntu, but I do not really want to get rid of my windows installation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

Did you try to flash the BIOS within the Windows OS?

The BIOS is win-based and you could flash the ROM module using the win based BIOS version.

For that you need an installed Windows OS.

Found a very interesting HowTo doc about the BIOS update.
