Hello

Server operating system on a notebook???

May I ask you why you want to do this? I don’t see a reason for that and notebook isn’t designed for server systems.

Furthermore Windows 2003 Server is based on Windows XP and for Qosmio F60 and XP are no drivers available. It supports Windows 7 only…
So you have to search all drivers yourself on external pages if you really want to do this.

I choose W2K3 Server Enterprise Edition because only this OS nearest for WinXP 32-bit and can support Proccessor i7 with all cores and such amount of RAM (6Gb). I need this configuration of hardware and software for my work to develop and support software of our company. In case working with W7 64 bit, all software that I need doesn't work stable and correct.
Unfortunatly I can not find all drivers and utilites for proper functionality of this notebook with W2k3.
Still does not work wifi ar9285 (device cannot start code 10), FN buttons (I can not find utility for W2k3), HDD protection, TV Tuner, and may be other hidden devices.

I think it’s understandable that not all notebook function can be used choosing and using such OS.
I think you will have to forego some function if you want to use such OS.

At the other hand the Win 2003 Server is similar to Win XP and you could choose and try the tools which are released for Win XP. You could try the

I'm already tested all such software for XP but doesn't work.
I'm sad with this situation.

Of course it’s sad but sorry mate… this was predictable…
Of course you can install and use such OS on the notebooks but don’t expect that special notebook functions would also.…and special tools were not released for such OS

Hello

I think everyone knows that notebooks are not designed for Server OS and therefore are no drivers available.

I would recommend installing Windows 7 Professional. It has a real XP virtualization mode so you can use your programs still on XP but you don’t have stress with driver installation ;)
