Cannot install any security software

Hello

My brother purchased a Toshiba Saterlite laptop which came with McAfee trila. Well, the trial ran out and he wanted to install Kaspersky as this is his preferred choice. A new Kaspersky was purchased from Amazon. When installation was attempted everything went well. When he tried to open it to change a few settings nothing happened. Basically, the icon was there but it could not be opened, it was not doing anything.

I have since contacted Kaspersky and ran all of the tests and sent the resulting logs to them and they assure me that there is nothing stopping the installation. I have today tried to install, McAfee, and this failed due to an error. I got the same message with AVG, Norton as well as a few other programs.

Does anyone know if this is sometjhing to do with the Toshiba software and if so can this be resolved. The system has been scanned with MaleWareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware and all have shown no issues.

If anyone would kind enough to please help with this then I would be grateful.

Hello

Have you removed McAffe software from the system before you have started Kaspersky installation?

Usually there should not be any problem. Preinstalled antivir software must be removed from the system and after notebook restart new software can be installed.

The system has been scanned with MaleWareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware and all have shown no issues.

I don’t think it’s useful if you install so much security software… As far as I know Kasperksy Security software contains already a malware and spyware scanner so such additional tools are not necessary in my opinion.

So I would recommend removing such security and run CCleaner (freeware tool) to clean up the registry and delete the keys of this security software.

Well, I have checked to make sure that McAfee is not presnet and that it is removed.

MaleWareBytes was suggested by the Kaspersky Tech Support on the basis that it could spot something Kaspersky might miss and vice-versa. I have used a number of AV and Firewall progs over the years and they all manage to find otherwise hidden issues all with the exception to Symantecs Norton pile of doggy doo-doo.

I will download CCleaner and see it that might help. I have never experienced this issue before in all my 15 years of using the Internet, hence my initial thought was that it may be some Toshiba thing that could be removed.

Generally speaking there should not be any problem using other security software on Toshiba notebooks.
My personal favourite is Avira Antivir and I use it for years now.
N the last 8 years I have used 4 Toshiba notebooks and the first step after recovery image installation was removal of preinstalled security software. Later I have always installed Avira and all other favourite software.

I really hope you will be able to install Kapersky.

You have to remove mcAfee software from your computer completelt before installing Kaspersky.
If you don't do this then you have to face problem with this , sometimes it also worked as a virus in your computer.

Security is a major issue which is faced by almost all users duing at particular stage.I am glad to know this security support which could bring some better option for me in a short time duration.
These efforts are well assumed and is very effective in making security issues.This will help users a lot in resolving their security issues.

You first check are you completely deleted the part of antivirus if any from your computer
