Hello everyone,

before explain my problem, sorry for my bad english, I'm french (lol).

So I bought a Satellite T130-15T in July 2010. I never got a problem with, but yesterday when I wanna stop my computer Windows stopped w/o problems but the computer didn't stop (black screen and my computer never stopped). I push a second time on my "power button" and it was good.

But after this I couldn't boot my laptop (when I pushed on my button, there was no effect). I disconected my battery of my laptop, and reconnect it, after I reconnect my screen became white (my computer was "turned off" and my screen was "turned on", and white). And I couldn't turn on my computer.
Since my battery became empty and my screen is turned off too.

I have 2 questions :

What's the problem?
I need a return for my product to Toshiba?
I have in my laptop data which I need absolutely.
How can I extract it without lose my Toshiba warrantly? Can I go to an "approved repairer" who can extract my hard drive, copy my data and this without lose my warranty?

I expect my message is understandable lol.
Thanks a lot.

Hello

No, you can’t return your notebook. It’s depending on your country but normally you have only 14 days to return it. After this it’s not possible.

If you go to an authorized service provider your notebook can repaired for free due warranty. So you don’t have to pay for repair.

But backup your data is not covered by warranty I think. So either you do it yourself or you ask the guys how much it will cost.

Generally speaking if your notebook doesn’t start (no screen) the HDD and Windows installation is not affected so after repair it should be possible to access all your data and Windows should start again.

Sorry it's a vocabulary problem lol, I didn't mean "return" (like "send to recover my money") but "send to Toshiba for repair".

My laptop got a warranty (he just has 6 months), so I absolutely need to send to Toshiba for repair ?

Yes that's what i supposed, motherboard problem or smtg like that. If my laptop is entirely dead and Toshiba need to give me a new, can i ask to Toshiba a recover of my data (i'll pay if it's necessary) ? I'm scared about this (if my laptop is dead), it's for that I prefer save my data before send my laptop to Toshiba if it's possible, and I would like to know if it's possible without remove my warrantly (with a computer repairman for example)

Thanks :)
