Satellite Pro L300 - Error when installing Intel Storage Manager
Posted: 01-Dec-2010 23:08

I have downloaded all the drivers. One of them will not install for me. "Intel IMSM Driver SATA V8.0.0.1039 Windows XP 21.12 MB" for PSLB9A-02H002. It gives me an error "This comp does not meet the minimum requirments for installing the software".

Any solution for this. Thanks. Regards.

Hi, mate

Usually, all drivers are available on the Toshiba driver page. if you can't install above mentioned driver, it means you didn't download a correct driver version. can you post us exact vendor's and evice id. read, here:

Hi RobertL,

I don’t know what notebook you have but usually the Intel Storage Manager must be installed for XP or let’s say during Windows XP setup. You have to create a new installation disk with this driver:

Thanks for the respond. I should start from the beginning. I am a bit tired already and thinking of installing vista which I don't want to do.
This is a laptop Satelite Pro L300, mod PSLB9A-02H002. I started installing XP on it by changing the BIOS to compability mode otherwise it would not read the XP disk. Installed XP with no problem wiping the hidden partition (if it was there). I downloaded all the drivers from this site for the correct model. The problem starts there. Laptop is freezing every so often, sometime it will boot into an empty screen etc. Just few moments ago a message came up:

"The device driver for the 'Intel(R), Wireless WiFi Link 5100' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update thid driver."

In addition I dont have an access to floppy ext. drive to follow the procedure mentioned above, I dont even know if this can be done after XP is installed.
The BIOS setting has to stay in "compatibility" option otherwise if its on "AHCI" it will not boot.

I would love to make it work with XP but it may not be possible. Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Firstly;
"The device driver for the 'Intel(R), Wireless WiFi Link 5100' device is preventing the machine from entering standby. Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver."

This is Wlan card and it seems that WLan prevents the notebook to go into standby mode.
So as suggested in the message, I would recommend updating the WLan driver firstly to get this working again.

Secondly;
Regarding the AHCI/SATA driver;
I recommend creating new Win XP CD which would contains the SATA drivers.
Then you can set the BIOS SATA mode to AHCI and could install Windows XP using the new disk.

Here is a nice description and instruction how to do this:
