Portege R100 - Missing some Ethernet Controller Win XP drivers

The hard drive failed on my Portege R100 so I replaced it and installed Windows XP.
The only problem is that I am missing some drivers, so I am unable to get into the Internet - significantly the Device Manager indicates problems with the Ethernet Controller.

Is there a location to get these missing drivers? I don't even know what to look for to solve the Ethernet Controller portion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Ethernet Controller might be a LAN or WLan card.
Did you install the LAN card driver?

All drivers can be found on the Toshiba European driver page:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com

The Protégé R100 is a older notebook model so you will have to check the Archive.
In Product type of download form choose Archive instead of notebook.

Do you mean the LAN or WLAN card?

Normally you can get all drivers for your notebook from the Toshiba website:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > Support & Downloads > Download Drivers

I’m pretty sure that you will find the correct driver and if you not you can post here again!

Normally there will be an intel 2100 wlan card in your r100, but it can be of a different kind ( like atheros )

Thanks for the link. I can see networks in the area, but when I try to connect to mine it tries then tells me that I am no longer in range (after which it redisplays the network being available will full five bars).

I do not know what driver is needed, but "Ethernet Controller" is showing as having a problem in the Device Manager.

I will follow the link and hopefully find whatever it feels is needed.

Unfortunately, eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com is not displaying drivers for the R100.

Surely, the Toshiba European driver page contains the drivers for Portege R100.
If you would read the whole threads and the posting by MisterX properly then you would find the info that the drivers were moved to Archive.

for your WLAN-drivers : look at the bottom of the download page in the link given above , use it to identify your Wlan card and choose the right driver
