Satellite P300-1GK Can't find display driver for ATI Radeon HD 4650 Win XP

Hello,

I can't find driver for my ATI Radeon mobility HD 4650. There is a mistake on the download page of toshiba website.
My notebook is a P300-1GK (PSPCCE). The drivers are for the 3650 etc... not for the 4650. Where can I found the good one ?

Hello Damien

Sorry but can you please tell me why is this driver not the right one? Some error message or what?
The same driver Toshiba uses for WXP recovery image.

Unfortunately my P300 is not with ATI graphic card and I cannot test it.

According to the file CX_63055.inf, this driver is for:

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650
ATI Radeon 3100 Graphics
...

no 4650...

Here it is ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 = ati2mtag_M9x, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9480

Hi!

Ok I have checked the Toshiba website and the Satellite P300-1GK is equipped with a HD4650 graphic card but on the Toshiba European driver download page I can find a display driver for ATI cards.
If you try to install it do you get an error or something else? What happens exactly?

Don’t forget that this driver doesn’t have an overheat protection and the graphic chip can be damaged so I would not choose it.

I have download your package (display-20080902145224.ZIP).

When i install the driver I got error.
It says that Setup can't find a compatible driver for my graphical card or my OS.

I have Windows XP SP3 (32 bits).

I did it too…. and found the Win XP drivers too for this notebook. So Win XP is supported!
The driver functions and can be installed on your notebook.

If you get an error message while installation procedure then you should try to install it in device manager and should point to the driver files downloaded from the page and sotred on the HDD.

Already tried and this not a driver for an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 !!!

Here is a list of graphics card this driver (Driver\XP_INF\CX_63055.inf) is for:

You can check by yourself. Download it and check the CX_63055.inf file.

Hi

I checked the Toshiba European driver page “More info” and found the info that the Win XP driver is compatible with ATI M82/M86 graphic cards.
This is a ATI title and these are HD 3470 and HD 3650 chips.

Unfortunately the driver does not support the HD4650.

Hi,

Someone told me that you can install the XP desktop drivers instead of the XP notebook drivers for the ati HD4650.
He tried this, and it works fine for him. I did not yet try this.
He says that it works only with XP SP-3 and you have to force the installation of the drivers in device manager.

I dont have any correct response from Toshiba for the problem with video driver ATI Mobility Radeon for HD4650 / 1 Go Ram.*
I call 2 times to Toshiba Hot Line and said : "write to Toshiba France to make a claim" (Ecrivez Toshiba France pour faire une reclamation)..

It's crazy !!

Toshiba help us !!!
We need an correct driver ATI Mobility Radeon for HD4650 / 1 Go Ram for Windows XP for P300.*
