Profane language
Posted: 23-Oct-2007 10:46
Perhaps whoever maintains the restriction of language on this forum could provide a clear instruction as to what letter(s) combinations are unacceptable when answering questions etc.

I wasted over an hour trying to alter perfectly normal text to no avail. Surely a Toshiba programmer should be able to do something to avoid this annoyance which I have yet to encounter on other forums.

Political Correctness is apparently alive and well!

I can understand that Toshiba is responsible for the forum content and can not allow usage of some "bad words" like profanity or something similar. Every serious forum has mechanism to block such words. It is also important to say that every serious forum moderator must take care about content in the interest of the forum community and all other people who read this.

As I can see you have already written 7 different postings and also this last one is evidence that you can write postings using "normal" text. When I have some time I post here and till now I didn't noticed any problem.

Of course it will be interesting to know what you have tried to post. I am sure that moderator will read this and you can help with every comment you write.

Thanks Silas.

If you can see my other postings you will see that there are no unacceptable terms, words or language contained within them and as a matter of fact I received the same message when I tried to post a reply to yours!

I would appreciate your help in deciphering my postings and telling me just what language I may use to convey my experiences with my Toshiba problem in an attempt to find a resolution.

Hi Chris

You were able to post the last message.

So simply said -> there is no solution because there is no problem ;)

If you cannot post another message change you vocabulary ;)

That's all very well, but it is interesting that you assume that whatever I typed in my responses was profane whereas I can assure you that is not correct. IMHO I believe that the lexicon employed by this forum-bot contains restrictions which result in the warning message being delivered. Either that, or the use of a different browser and/or computer does so.

Also, unfortunately, since I cannot transmit my responses in any other manner, e.g. as an attachment, you and others are unable to determine the truth of my statements.

However, this subject has become tiresome and I decline to pursue it further.

Thanks to all for your interest.
